Easy Solution to Concealed Weapon Issue
May 29, 2015
What would you do if someone attacked you as you walked down the street? Now, what would you do in the same situation, but you were carrying a concealed weapon?
The answer is pretty obvious – carrying a weapon would protect you from most attacks.
Responsible adults should have the right to carry a concealed handgun to protect themselves against criminals. Violent criminals will always have guns or some other type of weapon, so citizens should also be able to carry guns for self-defense against would-be attackers. Better protection for citizens means that tragic events like murder, kidnapping or rape could be stopped before they ever start.
The Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution says “…the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” The Constitution allows people to keep and bear arms, so it shouldn’t matter whether it’s concealed or out in the open.
Concealed weapons promote women’s safety. Women are physically weaker than men and are often the victims of violent crimes. Many of these crimes could be prevented if women were allowed to carry concealed weapons like guns.
List Land, an online blog that focuses on providing “unique perspectives” on a variety of challenging topics, sees the issue of women’s safety as a key reason that concealed weapons should be allowed. In their posting, “10 Reasons Concealed Carry Handguns Should Be Legal,” they report that “over 20% of women are victims in homicides with around 82% of these homicides being sex-related.” Women can already carry concealed mace or pepper spray which protect them but only do so much. Legalizing concealed weapons allows for an opportunity by which they can defend themselves with greater effectiveness.
Concealed firearms can be properly regulated if legalized. Many people fear that, if concealed firearms were allowed, it would create more violence, but the aim of a concealed carry law is to allow responsible citizens the right to carry firearms for self-defense.
