For Paint Branch freshman Eileen Morataya a favorite activity is to walk around the Burtonsville shopping center. Eileen likes to walk around this shopping center because she thinks it is like two centers in one. “There is one singular large area with main stores and then a crosswalk and it leads to a sort of mini shopping center next.”
Eileen has lived in the area since birth and attended Banneker Middle School before coming to PB. While she has lived in the same place all this time, she has traveled out of the country before. She says she went to El Salvador and found the area she visited pretty. She also thinks there are a lot of places to visit in El Salvador, which she says is “a fun place to visit because you get to learn more about the culture.”
Eileen says she doesn’t read books much and also does not watch much in the way of TV shows, but she does like movies. Her favorite movie is “The Notebook” because it is touching and interesting.
As for how life is going right now, she thinks it’s a 7 out of 10 after originally saying it was a 5. She says it was a 5 because life was boring because she didn’t have anything to do after school, but this has gotten better. “It’s a 7 now because my sister, who was away, came back. Now I get to spend more time with her.”
