Jacqui Bennett, Staff Writer

As a person who really enjoys summer, Paint Branch junior Jacqui Bennett admits that “because I like summer, it makes coming back to school hard to do.”

While going back to school may be difficult, now as a third year student at PB, Jacqui says she enjoys attending the school because “I like the people that I've met, they made the experience good.” As she gets further along in high school, she mentions that it comes with more responsibility. On a scale of 1-10, she rates her life a 5 right now because of the work, responsibilities, and expectations of the future.

From her school experiences with reading as well as the books she has read on her own over the years, Jacqui says that a book she read in 6th grade that positively shaped her was Gathering Blue. Jackqui says this book resonated with her because it “shifted how I felt about literature, and reading in general.”

As Jacqui describes herself more, she mentions that the animals that represent her the most are rabbits, and bunnies, which she says she likes because they are very cute.

As for superpowers, Jacqui says she wishes she could teleport, because she could go anywhere. On this same track, Jacqui says that If she could travel anywhere she would go to Italy because, “I have wanted to travel to Italy since I was a kid, it's very beautiful.”

Even with an overall enjoyment of her PB experience, which includes the friends that she has made, Jacqui, who was born in Texas, says she hopes to leave Maryland. Even though she loves Maryland, “There’s so much more to see, so many cities, towns, and places to go outside of here,” she notes. Jacqui Bennett as a student overall has enjoyed her experience at PB, especially meeting people.
