Songwriter of the Decade, with over 12 million albums sold, Taylor Swift has embarked on a tour that will change the game for all artists in years to come. From releasing songs written in High School to winning 12 Grammys, Swift is a vastly unique and admirable performer with a legendary career that continues to grow.
With a 44-song setlist, the tour began in Glendale, Arizona on March 18th and continued throughout different parts of the U.S. until, originally, finishing in Los Angeles, California on August 5th. In total, the tour was scheduled to have 52 shows across the nation. At Swift’s Pittsburgh night-two show, Swift broke Acrisure Stadium’s attendance record as over 73,000 fans came out to watch her perform.
Midway through her tour, on June 2nd, Swift announced her Latin America portion of the Eras tour, where she would be performing in countries like Mexico, Argentina, and Brazil. And if that wasn’t enough, 18 days later she announced that she would be taking her tour internationally, going to countries such as Japan, Australia, Singapore, and more. Swift’s tour was so high in popularity that she was unable to perform in The Philippines since there was, “no stadium that could accommodate the Eras Tour,” according to South China Morning Post.
Taylor Swift’s fans, usually referred to as Swifties, made it a collective effort to arrive at the Eras tour dates fully decked out to match their favorite Taylor Swift Era, different times in Swift’s life. Once images of Swifties at tour stops got out, this became a trend, and people from all over the country showed up in Bejeweled outfits. Something else that appeared this year was based on a lyric from Swift’s 2022 sentimental hit song “You’re on Your Own Kid.” The lyric, “So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it” inspired fans to start creating and trading friendship bracelets with as many people as they could at an Eras concert. This wholesome trend gave concertgoers a more memorable experience and unique memorabilia to take home.
Swift’s ability to create a comfortable yet hype atmosphere for all in attendance allowed Swifties to have an experience they’ll forever remember All Too Well.
