During the annual Spirit Week, Panthers showed off their snug and comfy sleepwear, tropical wear, culture, favorite characters, and school pride. From Monday, 9/23 through Friday, 9/27 PB’s halls became a bit more interesting thanks to the much-loved celebration of Spirit Week.
As has become tradition, many came to school dressed to enter a deep slumber on Monday as the week began with “Pajama Day.” Students and staff wore bright pajamas and sleepwear accessories to give hallways and classrooms a sleepy vibe.
The second day of Spirit Week transformed Paint Branch into a calming oasis, as it was “Tropical Tuesday.” The Panthers and staff showed off their zen by wearing leis and tropical wear, making them seem more prepared to sit at the beachside than in class.
Wednesday was a sight to see as it was “Culture Day,” a day that has become one to look forward to at PB. Many students and staff came dressed in their cultural clothing, which included clothing from various places including Africa, South America, and Asia. The day was filled with exuberant colors and smiling faces in cultural clothing. Sophomore Kazi Mvunganyi enjoyed the day and felt that “representing school spirit is important.”
Thursday was “Dress as your Favorite Movie Character” One group that took this day to heart was the PB staff, who got very into dressing as movie characters. The entire history department was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs with Mr. White as Snow White. Ms.Wright, Mr. Silsibee, and Mr Julian all agree that the “Social Studies Department likes to have fun” and “enjoy the students’ response to our spirit.”
Friday was a day for everybody to celebrate, and it was the simplest day of all: “School Colors Day.” Throughout the building students and staff dressed up in school colors with students dressing in their particular class colors. Freshmen wore white, sophomores wore gold and gray, juniors wore burgundy, and seniors wore black.
