Annual Art Show Exhibits Schoolwide Talent

Paint Branch’s talented art students displayed their distinguished art skills on Tuesday, May 13th in the art department’s annual art show.

The show, which exhibits work from all levels of art such as AP Studio Art, Studio Art, Photography, Digital Photography, Painting, Ceramics, Digital Art and Foundations of Art. The art show was set up in the main hallway this year instead of the gymnasium in order to create a better sense of flow as people perused works that ranged from vibrant paintings to intricate ceramic pieces to intimate photographs.

The pieces represented the lives and cultures of many of the students, as well as honored the true creative talent of the students. Art department resource teacher Ms. Aumaitre felt that “the art show this year showed an impressive range of ability and personal style. The show was very successful, especially due its display in the main hallway.”

This year’s show also included a spotlight on several student-designers including junior Lynn Le and senior Malik Sulieman. Sulieman displayed pieces from his fashion line, Sully, which launched last May and is popular among Paint Branch students. Sulieman felt that the art show was a good fit for his work because “it supports all of the young artists and creators in the school. It kind of gives them a chance to hear more feedback of their work and gain support.”
