Golf Finishes Undefeated

On a cloudy Monday morning, the Paint Branch Golf Team arrived at Poolesville Golf Course for the state qualifying tournament. Paint Branch finished 18-0 in the regular season and won the division, and they were hoping their good play would carry over into the tournament.
Paint Branch shot an overall score of 363, which was good enough to earn them 10th place for the team score. Their 10th place finish out of 24 teams was their best in years. Senior captain Nick Lee and junior Kevin Tregoning both had solid rounds shooting a 90, and juniors Ryan Kirk and Jared Belke also contributed with a 91 and a 92. Junior Jessika Agyepong struggled but still played some good holes and finished with a 107. Lee, Tregoning, Kirk, and Belke qualified for the 6th annual Montgomery County Golf Invitational tournament at Falls Road coming up in a few weeks. The Panthers will be moving up to division 2 next year due to their outstanding performance this year but will be losing senior Nick Lee due to graduation and will have to find someone else to step up.
