Eating With Emily

Need a new, original, and refreshing place to eat?  Well, it’s time to look at something “old” to find something new.  That place is Seibel’s.  Located in Burtonsville, Seibel’s is a family restaurant and ice cream dairy that offers plenty of comfort food including appetizers, seafood, Seibel’s famous burgers, pasta and my personal favorite: crab dip.  All of this can be had without digging too deep into your wallet. As a high school student myself, I am always on a budget, so an inexpensive menu is one of the best qualities in a restaurant.

Seibel’s began as a stop on the road for some delicious homemade ice cream, but opened as a full service restaurant in 1971, which is when they began serving breakfast, homemade soups and hamburgers. Siebel’s has put on two additions and completed three remodels over the years, which has helped the restaurant increase the number of tables and level of service. Today, Seibel’s is run by sisters Karen and Lynn, and the restaurant is so family-oriented that at least one family member is almost always at work.

Aside from their family reputation, Siebel’s is well-known for its homemade ice cream. For sixty years, Siebel’s has been serving super premium ice cream that they say, “only uses the finest fruits, nuts, candies, and fresh dairy.”  Trust me, it definitely beats Baskin Robbins or Rita’s.

So, if you’re looking for a little originality or something “new,” try one of Burtonsville’s most notorious spots to eat – you won’t regret it!
