Boys’ & Girls’ Soccer Drop Tough Matches

Wheaton: 3 – PB Boys: 1

Mark Holman, Staff Writer

The Paint Branch Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team lost 3-1 last Tuesday against a tough Wheaton Knights squad.
Wheaton scored the first goal of the game on a penalty kick, and after the call and subsequent goal, things seemed to go downhill for the Panthers. Though Wheaton would score two more goals in the match, the Panthers didn’t give up.
About twenty minutes into the second half, the Panthers scored their first and only goal of the contest to keep it interesting, but could do no more. Though they tried to use this new momentum, they could not break through again. At the time of publication, the boys’ team is on a three-game losing streak and has a record of 3-6. Their next match is next Tuesday the 7th at Blair.
