Cuff-a-holics Anonymous

The sagging fad may finally be on its way out the door, and in its place comes “cuffing.” Instead of dropping drawers from the waist down, more and more people are raising his or her pants from the legs up.
Don’t misconstrue about this fashion, though; it is much more refined than sagging, plus it has some obvious benefits. First of all, no butts hang out when cuffing, so the hallways will be kept like a PG movie (okay, maybe PG-13). Secondly, cuffing prevents designer-ripped jeans from dragging on the ground and forming real holes. Finally, this fashion statement is tried and true, having been around longer than most of your teachers or their pet dinosaurs.
This style is also very versatile and fits with most styles of dress. Raising them high gets that well-sought-after farmer’s look. Keeping them low and symmetrical is good for any skater imitator. Rolling them up somewhere in between is great for the preppy look. (Let’s face it; you already own the boat shoes)
For me, the “in” trend right now seems to be dressing like a farmer. In the hallways I see people sporting overalls, but I haven’t owned a pair since I was seven. Instead, I cuff my jeans as high as they’ll go in the hope of keeping my ankles nice and cool. If I notice my forearms getting too warm, I might cuff my plaid button down as well.
Not only does cuffing look cool, but the space created between the fold can also be used for storage just like pockets. As you walk through the halls of PBHS you will notice there are lots of discarded pens and pencils everywhere. Cuffing makes it convenient to stop, pick up, and place that pencil in your cuff and keep on walking with hands free. You can also use the space to store your Halloween candy while you trick or treat. If you cuff your pants high enough, you can even safely hold your iPhone 6 xl and prevent it from bending.
If you are not sold on cuffing yet, let me make an appeal to your ethos. Famous people cuff too. Actor Jonathan Ke Quan, rocks an incredible 4-inch pleat as Richard “Data” Wang in The Goonies cuffed his pants. More recently, country redneck rapper Big Smo revealed he cuffs his pants, too.
Seriously, cuffing should be embraced as a sane trend. While so many fads change with the times, cuffing seems to be a safe constant.
