PBHS Alumni Day Set for December 23rd

On December 23rd, Paint Branch alumni will return for the first ever PB Alumni Day. Proposed by Mr. Ritzer, with assistance from Ms. Candia, PB Alumni Day seeks to connect current students with alumni in order to encourage students to plan for their future.

Mr. Ritzer explains, “The purpose is to try to give current students a sense of what the world is like after they graduate from PB. Whether they are considering college, work, the military or something else, there is a lot to be learned from people who have come from the same community and then ventured out into the “real world.”

So far, over 100 alumni have expressed interest in participating. The alumni who participate will be visiting classrooms throughout the day to share their wisdom and lessons learned with current students.

Mr. Ritzer hopes that “current PB students will realize that life after PB is challenging, rewarding, fun and will pay off if they work hard, regardless of what direction they go after leaving our school.” He also hopes that this day will serve as a motivator for students to work harder while in high school to ensure that they have many options available to them after they graduate.
