Out With the Old; In With the New

New year, new you, right? That’s what many say every year as we reach those last couple of weeks of December.

As the year comes to an end, we all take a minute to sit back and think about what we accomplished, and what we didn’t, and think ahead to our future plans. While we may have had big plans at the beginning of the year, it’s almost guaranteed that we achieved only half of those goals.

What are real goals, though? Is it you saying things all over social media, such as this year you’ll have no fake friends, only yourself? Instead of being a new year and a new you, it often feels as if we are repeating the same cycle over and over, every year.

This year, instead of just repeating the same words over and over again, take action. The end of the year is filled with excitement, family and fun. Who really sits and thinks about how they are going to change themselves? How they won’t fit into the category of that person who posted that picture about it being only me this year? This year, a change in ourselves and who we surround ourselves with should be able to be viewed in person. After all, it is a New Year’s Resolution, so resolve to the new you that you want to be.
