PB NJROTC GETS DOWN

The cadets of the njrotc unit take a night to unwind

When people think of the NJROTC, they think yelling, structure and discipline, However the students of the unit recently took one night to unwind, relax and socialize with each other at their annual holiday party.

Held on Wednesday, December 17, the party the cadets had involved trying something new. This year, as rather than having the party at Commander DeCavege’s house like in previous years, they had a potluck dinner in the cafeteria. The menu consisted of various items, ranging from veggies trays to lasagna to fried chicken. Over 100 family members and friends filled the room with chatter and cheers as the Commander gave out the various awards and announced the new Commanding Officer and Executive Officer of the unit.
The change of command ceremony isn’t until January, but senior Anthony Arludoss will take command then. When asked why he felt it was important to continue holiday and social events amongst the unit, he replied, “[It] brings people together and promotes networking.”

The unit is like a family. They work together, walk together and, more importantly, socialize together.
