Spirit Week – Part II

Paint Branch SGA continues spirit week throughout the year

Dazha Austin, Staff Writer

Homecoming brings along with it the traditional time known as spirit week, the onetime of the year where you get to dress up in your wackiest clothes or as your favorite superhero and not be thought of as crazy. The excitement comes from the unknown as each new year and each new day brings new people and new clothes.

PB’s very own SGA decided to keep the spirit of spirit week alive by having spirit days throughout the school year. So far SGA had spirit days such as Camo Day in November and Zodiac Day in January. These days were not as big a hit as the full spirit week preceding the homecoming game, but the lack of participation on these days may have been due to the fact that people didn’t know about them, or they were not well-advertised. Senior Herawe Kebede said, “I did not know about the spirit day from the SGA deliberately advertising it; I had to find out from one of my friends who’s on SGA.”

SGA advertised these days on the morning announcements and on posters in the hallway to drum up more support. It is not too late to get involved as the first week in March brings a new spirit week with days ranging from Crazy Hat Day to International Day to the infamous Class Colors Day complete with a pep rally on Friday.

So put away the winter blues, pull out your wackiest shoes and show Paint Branch your spirit and support.
