Time to Act Your Age & Stop Being a Distraction

Ryheir Johnson, Staff Writer

When a teacher goes over a lesson that will be on an upcoming test and everyone is trying their hardest to get the notes down, focus is key. However, all too often there are a group of kids that despise school and would do anything in their favor to make their time here entertaining, even when everyone else is trying to focus. Misbehaving makes the teacher stop the lesson and focus on the delinquent students rather than important class material.

Based on my experiences, I understand how teachers struggle with this issue. Misbehavior also frustrates me because instead of having a 40 minute lesson, we have to have a life lesson for at least 10-20 minutes on the same speech I’ve heard a billion times since 5th grade. I’m in my last semester of a high school and kids are still acting up. Even some seniors still act like they’re in 6th grade.

Thank goodness more people act the right way in college instead of acting like a fool who has no care about education. Instead of acting like a menace during class which I see too much in high school. I see college as a place where young people will look to get good grade so they can pass and do well.
