Jaylen Prescott, Staff Writer

Now that the NBA playoffs have started, besides the talk of who is winning the finals, the conversations are about who is winning MVP. Players who are in the talk for winning the NBA’s MVP are Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry, Houston Rockets guard James Harden, and Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook. All are very talented, but Curry is who should win it all.

Comparing Steph Curry and the two others reveals that Curry is better overall. Curry led the Warriors to a regular-season record of 67-15, which is the best regular-season record since the 1991’-92’ Chicago Bulls team. Harden led his team to a record of 56-26 and 2nd seed in their conference. Unfortunately for Westbrook and his outstanding numbers, his team did not make the playoffs.

Curry broke his own NBA record for made 3-pointers (272) in a season in a final regular season game win over the Portland Trail Blazers, and this year he also became the first player in NBA history to score 45 or more points on fewer than 25 shots and five or fewer free-throw attempts. Toss in his 10 assists in that game, and he was responsible for 65 points, his highest total of the season. In a season filled with statement games from the top candidates, this was a prodigious effort that will be hard for any player to accomplish.

Curry missed two games of the season, and really Curry’s numbers are tremendous. Averaging over 30 minutes per game, b 13th overall; averaging over 7 assists per game, 3rd overall; and averaging over 30 points a game, 1st overall proves Curry is MVP.
