Sumer Elsalawi, Features & Opinions Editor
Hi there!! My name is Sumer and I am a 12th grader here at Paint Branch High School. This is my second year taking journalism, and my first year as an editor working on the print issues for the school newspaper. Since I started journalism, I always found myself fascinated by past print issues, and I am more than excited to work with others and create some for this school year!
In my free time, I enjoy staying home and relaxing, but I also love spending time with my friends and family, which is something I always try to make time for. Whenever I catch myself feeling too busy or overwhelmed, I take a step back and remind myself to have fun. This is vital because even amidst stressful seasons, there are always endless memories to gain.
Growing up, I have always had a passion for writing as it is a great form of self-expression and entertainment, and it’s the reason why I decided to take journalism my junior year. Writing in this class has allowed me to take my mind off of my workload, and gave me the opportunity to invest my time in something both productive and fun. I am glad to be back this year and to write again for the Paint Branch newspaper one last time :)
