NFL Playoff Picks

Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers

This AFC matchup involves two high-powered offenses squaring off for the third time this year. The last matchup had the Broncos at home and heavily favored, but the Chargers showed they can stick with the Broncos even with their Mile High advantage. After an upset win against the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round, the Chargers look to beat the Broncos and upset them as well. The Broncos look to use the week they just had off to their advantage and come out and overpower the Chargers. I am calling that the team of destiny, the Chargers, will upset the Broncos at their stadium, knocking out the number one seed in the AFC.

New England Patriots vs. Indianapolis Colts

After an amazing comeback against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Colts look to carry that momentum into a tough matchup against a strong opponent in the New England Patriots. The Colts leave the comforts of the controlled dome and travel to a cold Foxborough to face Tom Brady and his offense of broken pieces. With Rob Gronkowski out for the year, players like Julian Edleman and off-season acquisition Danny Amendola have stepped up to provide Brady with some reliable hands. This game looks to be a good one with two teams who can put up numbers when they need to. This game will most likely go down to the wire, but the winning quarterback will not be the one you expect, as Andrew Luck and the Colts will continue their run and beat the Patriots.

Carolina Panthers vs. San Francisco 49ers

Possibly the lowest scoring game of the playoffs will happen between these two strong defensive teams. The last time they met, the combined score reached 19 points with the Panthers coming out on top 10-9. Home field advantage goes to the Panthers, who look to use that to their advantage as much as possible. With a red hot team in the 49ers coming to town, they will need as much help as they can get. The 49ers, coming off a close win in a tough environment in Green Bay, have shown they can handle not only the cold but can defend against even the strongest offenses. Look for the Panthers to win this one easily, with a defense that can hold the 49ers, and a good running game.

Seattle Seahawks vs. New Orleans Saints

This game seems familiar doesn’t it? Oh yeah, that’s right, because it was just played in the same scenario two years prior. With the Saints showing that they can win post season games on the road, they look to win a game at the toughest place to play in the NFL, Seattle’s very own Century Link. The Seahawks, who are coming off a first round bye, look to use this energy to overpower the Saints. In their last matchup in the playoffs, the Seahawks were able to handle the Saints pretty easily, but this year is different. Now the Saints, who have found their own strong defense, look to upset the Seahawks in their stadium. With the Saints beating the Eagles in the first week of the playoffs, some may say they have the momentum, but after watching that game, the Saints did not look like a team that can compete with the Seahawks. Look for the Hawks to take this game easily.
