Parents Go Back to School

On September 11, 2014 a special event occurred at Paint Branch High School.  This event – which took place on a day to remember the fallen on 9/11/2001 – was an opportunity for families to meet the wonderful staff from Paint Branch.

Back-To-School-Night is an experience intended for parents to come and look around the school and become familiar with the campus and environment. This is especially important for the freshman parents who often only know a little about the school.

When the clock turned 6:00, parents came roaming into the campus with curiosity. During this time of the event, parents had the chance to walk around the school to see all the different clubs that were there to introduce themselves and gather new members.

At 7:00 the full event began, as parents strolled down the halls of Paint Branch. Entering the functioning classrooms, parents focused on the teachers and asked questions to understand the educational information.

“Going from class-to-class in a limited time is stressful,” said a freshman parent.

From the next period bell to the 1 minute bell, parents either rushed or walked to their child’s classroom.  “This school is huge, and it’s easy to get lost in,” remarked one parent.  “That’s why I copied my son’s schedule and reviewed the room numbers and the teachers so that I won’t get lost.”

As the time hit 9:00 pm, both parents and teachers were tired from running around campus and teaching. At this time everyone was fatigued, and it was time for the close of the event and the end of another successful Back-To-School-Night.
