Battle of the Sexes Crisis Reaches a High Point

Ryheir Johnson, Staff Writer

“Men are arrogant and always lie a lot.” “Women have too much drama in their lives and

complain about it over a social media websites.” Over the decades, we have heard the same flaws about

each gender, but it is time that we end these silly shenanigans and come together.

Gender equality may not be on par with racism, but it had similar importance.

This topic has existed for many years; similar was back in the caveman days.

What women say is that men flirt and perhaps go as far as cheat with other girls, angering their partner

They see men who lie when talking or texting. For men, they say the same thing but add an extra dose to

their thoughts saying,  women get into too much drama.

Gender inequality is also on display in songs, like Chris Brown’s “Loyal” where he

sings/raps with other rappers like Lil Wayne and Tyga complaining about girls not being loyal or truthful

to their companion. “The Loyal” song has taken a negative turn in the world of social media; for example,

on, one social media app called Vine people posted oblivious 7-second videos about the song about

girls or boys not being loyal or truthful.

Another song “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen, is positive, telling a story about a girl who has a

crush on the man next door. Until the man hides a shocking secret but unveiling that would lead to

another topic.

TV shows and movies continue the gender inequality from programs that appear on networks like

Lifetime and Tyler Perry movies, which generally have to do with abuse of women and relationships

problems, which also leads to the topic in those films. Another example of inequality is a show called

Degrassi which focus a teen drama, some been episodes about rough relationships

focusing on cheating, abusive mates, and pregnancy.

Lastly, whether you’re a man, woman, or both, people are always going to have flaws because

everyone’s gender is equal in that respect. No gender is better than another, life isn’t a competition on

telling which gender is better. It’s like were saying which race is better, blacks or Latinos. Its 2014, soon

to be 2015, so we should all live in peace instead of judging other people’s errors. The only one you

should be judging is yourself.
