The Paint Branch Marching Band has had quite a fall season this year. The band has performed in four competitions this fall, including the first-ever competition hosted by a PB Marching Band.

The Marching Panthers opened the season on September 27th at Century High School in Sykesville, MD where they scored 69.725 and finished in 1st place. From there, they moved on to their own competition here at Paint Branch on October 11th, where they scored 80.825 and did not place as the host school in exhibition.
According to Marching Band Director Mr. Kirchoff, “these early-season competitions provided them with the experience of performing in front of a crowd, with the added pressure of competing against other bands and being judged by very knowledgeable adjudicators. Early-season comments from the judges are extremely valuable as we continue to refine, perfect and transform the show into its final product.” The marching band’s next competition took place at Towson University on October 25th where they competed in the Maryland State Championships in Group 2A and finished third. The team’s final competition was on November 1st at Severna Park High School in Annapolis. At this event, the team placed first with a score of 83.125. They also won for “Best Music” at this competition.
