The Paint Branch’s Girls’ JV Basketball Team suffered their first loss of the season against the Sherwood Warriors on Friday, December 12, 2014, dropping their record to 4-1. After a tough fight, the Warriors won the game 54-33.

The girls tried their hardest, but continued to be a few points behind the entire game. One of the starters on the Paint Branch team, 10th grader Alexandra Glover, was able to score 20 points in just the first three quarters of the game.

There were many turnovers in the game, as Paint Branch stole the ball from the Warriors only to lose the ball again.

Sophomore Danielle Rehwoldt had thoughts on the game:“We had a tough game, but we couldn’t do very much with three of our most-experienced guards out of play. Sherwood is a tough opponent, but hard work and perseverance allowed us to make the points we were able to make. We will only learn from our losses. We’ll get them next time.”

Even though the Panthers suffered a tough loss, it is still the beginning of the season, so they still have time to get better and improve on their skills during the rest of the season.
