As limos, party busses, and fancy sports cars arrived to University of Maryland’s Alumni Center, ladies glided down the red carpet in intriguing gowns and gentlemen strutted as a group of photographers began to rapidly snap photos of the attendants. It was clear from the start what the prom theme was: a night in Hollywood.

Flashing lights, and candle lit tables filled the atmosphere and music filled the room. As people danced, the four hours of prom seemed to fly by before everyone left the Alumni Center and climbed back in their rides, which were waiting to take them to their next destination.

At after prom, tables with straw skirts and tiki decorations surrounded the gymnasium and auditorium area at Paint Branch, which provided a better setting for the after prom than last year’s venue because there was more space for the activities.

Casino games, mini golf, inflatable houses and laser tag were some of the fun activities that seniors could take part in at after prom.

Senior Levi Poe mostly “enjoyed the games placed inside the gym because it made after prom more fun and exciting.”

Pizza and Chick-fil-a were served from the concession stands and Rita’s even made an appearance to serve some Italian ice to the students.

At the end of the night, Dr. Rogers raffled off goody baskets to students and some, like senior Peter Franklin, even drove home with a new microwave.

Once the after party came to a close and everyone made their way home or to their next festivity, it was clearly time to say goodbye to prom and the final event for seniors.

Senior Sarah Ehrman, said that she “really enjoyed the unity among [her] class, as well as how gorgeous everyone looked.”

Days later, everyone reminisced on the highlights of the night whether it was the preparation, the dancing or the free food. One thing is for certain, it was a night to remember for all.
