And Welcome to a Very Funny Movie

It’s been 22 years since the movie Jumanji, featuring Robin Williams, came out. The 1995 movie, based on the book by Chris Van Allsburg, was quite popular.

Now, a new version, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,  has become Sony’s 2nd biggest hit since Spiderman: Homecoming, which was released during the summer of 2017.  Jumanji has won the box office for the third straight weekend according to Time magazine’s article “Jumanji Wins Box Office for Third Straight Weekend” written by Jake Coyle, which stated, “Jumanji, starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, sold $20 million in tickets, according to studio estimates Sunday, bringing its five-week domestic total to $317 million. That makes Sony’s reboot the studio’s best non-Spider-Man movie domestically.”

The film stars Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, two of Hollywood’s funniest actors.  This movie is perfect to watch with the family and kids. It is more modern than the original and focuses on a video version of the game rather than a board game.  Some teens end up finding the video game version in detention and start to play the game. Through the game they have to find a way to save Jumanji and themselves, because they risk dying if they can’t get out. In the game, they also meet another character, played by famous singer and actor Nick Jonas, who is stuck in the game and needs to get out.
