This past Thursday, some of Paint Branch High School’s most talented students displayed their artwork at the Art Show. The event lasted all day and classes were able to walk through the show to admire the work of their peers. Hundreds of pieces of artwork including portraits, paintings, photographs, and ceramics were on display and students were faced with the difficult question: which piece is your favorite?

Several artists had multiple pieces on exhibit that captivated students and even enticed some of them to purchase a print of the piece that appealed to them the most.

Talented artist Dominic Tolentino described the event as something he is “really proud to be a part of.” He also noted that he loves that “it brought the art community together.”

With all the different styles and ways to express yourself, students learned a lot about their classmates and received insight as to the amount of work that goes into creating art. Tolentino commented that seeing the work of his peers is a great experience because he sees them start the piece in class, and then he sees the final version on display.

Another student, senior John Kucera, described the Art Show as a “breathtaking experience” and enjoyed being able to see “what my [his] peers are capable of.”

After the event, students can all agree that their school is full of talented students who feel comfortable to express themselves in their environment. The display was also able to get many students who may consider themselves to be non-artistic or not interested in art to appreciate what Paint Branch’s art department has to offer.
