Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey Finishes on a Strong Note

Fall Sports Wrap-Up

The Girls’ Varsity Field Hockey Team, coached by Mr. Dan Feher and Carrie Zwaan, finished the season 5-10, a lesser finish from their previous season where they finished 7-8. This season’s key wins were against Springbrook in overtime, 2-1 on senior night, and over Northwest 2-1. The most outstanding players this year were senior goalkeeper Erin King, senior defender Bridgette Dibble, and senior mid-fielder Molly Fers. “We experienced some difficult times early in the season and struggled to be competitive. By refocusing our efforts on playing together as a team, we challenged each of our subsequent opponents and were able to win 4 games out of 6 at one point toward the end of the season. We are graduating a large senior class, so the future is up to the 7 returning players and those that will join the varsity team for the first time next year. We should again be competitive in the future,” stated Coach Feher.
