On Friday, September 19, the Paint Branch Panthers Varsity Football Team played a great game against The John F. Kennedy Cavaliers, winning by a score of 43-7.  The Panthers won the game fairly easily against the Cavaliers, and moved to 3-0.

The game started with the Panthers having the ball first. The Panthers had some incomplete passes near the Cavalier end, but with 9:33 left in the quarter, PB’s quarterback Danon Davis-Cray completed a long touchdown pass to senior Ryan Stango putting the Panthers in the lead.

With a just over two minutes left in the first quarter, Kennedy received a five yard penalty which gave PB a first down. A few minutes later, PB’s quarterback threw the ball but it was intercepted by Kennedy.

The Panthers got the momentum back, though, as Justin Hockaday scored on a 9 yard run to up the lead to 12-0.  Stango caught the two-point conversion to take the lead to 14-0.

About three minutes later, there was an interception by PB’s Dave Stewart.  With only thirty-four seconds left in the second quarter, PB receiver Stango scored a touchdown to make the score 20-0, PB.

During halftime, the cheerleaders did amazing cheers and flips. Also, the Poms squad did an incredible performance. The middle-school band, as well as the high-school marching band, did an outstanding performance. They all had the crowd on their feet.
