PB Tennis Serving Up a Solid Season

Mark Holman, Staff Writer

The Paint Branch Tennis Team is off to a great start this season with a record of 2-1. The team rebounded after losing their first match to Division 3 Einstein to win two back-to-back matches against Wheaton and Gaithersburg.

The team has been very competitive and should see many more victories. For the first time in a long time, players trying out were under heavy scrutiny. In fact, one third of the players who tried out for the team were cut. The cuts meant the team would be smaller and more competitive. This has really shown through in the starting lineup where almost everyone has gotten a chance to play in a game this year because it is so competitive.

Senior Arron Wang is especially excited about the rest of this season, wanting only to “see the big trophy at the end of the season and take a selfie with it.” Another senior, Nick Lee, is looking forward to making last year’s season-ending trip to Dave and Buster’s a new team tradition. This team has what it takes to win the devision.
