Below the Grand Staircase, hundreds of student art pieces, ranging from photography and painting to ceramics and sculpture, and encompassing art classes from Digital Art to Foundations of Art and Introduction to Painting to AP Studio Art, exhibited the talent of our young artists.

For some, the show offered a glimpse at hidden talent, while for others it offered attendees a chance to see individuals’ artistic growth. The artwork, which stretched all the way down the main hallway and made viewing the art very spacious and enjoyable, was both beautiful and captivating.

“It was amazing to see the various cultures that were displayed in the art,” said senior Ana Sono. “I also enjoyed the detailed sketches of my fellow classmates.”

The time and effort of each piece was clearly evident in the strong detail and thought visible in each piece. Vibrant paintings and portraits, abstract pottery, and intriguing photographs clearly held the attention of students and staff as they strolled through the exhibit numerous times.

Senior Loren Corkran, whose work from AP Art appeared in the show, stated that she really enjoyed both viewing her peers’ work and displaying her own. “I loved how I could definitely feel the artist’s sense of self and voice through their multiple pieces artwork,” stated Corkran.

“Their ability to connect and relate one piece to another, or to just simply tell a story, was amazing.” Corkran also noted that she was “very excited to have my own section to share my handwork with my school.”
