Sage Suddleson

Sage Suddleson, Staff Writer (they/them)

“What hobbies do you have outside of school?” is a question most people respond to by naming sports or  a club but for freshman Sage Suddleson the answer is “basically anything that will make me not have to listen to the thoughts in my brain.”

An anxious introverted person, Sage spends most of their time drawing, listening to music, and watching Twitch streams. You could often catch them reading a book, trying to complete the goal they set for themselves “To read 30 books by the end of the year.”

Although they have no particular country they want to visit or travel to, they say that going out in the middle of the ocean on a boat would be fun. This isn't your typical answer but Sage is a very open minded person who describes “getting lost in something I like” as a way to take a step back from reality.

Kindness and activism is what they would like to be remembered for, and says they feel really strongly about racial and gender equality, which they plan to work on by continuing to spread awareness, help sign petitions, and create posts about it online.

If Sage were tasked with picking between  dogs or cats they would pick both because they have a Labradoodle named Rocky who’s 5 years old and has an affinity for cats. Though Sage has no cats currently, they plan to have some in the future because they love them. According to Sage their favorite movie is Spider Man Homecoming  but they say that their favorite movie changes when their interests change.

As for inspiration, that would be South Korean singer/songwriter Kim Jonghyun. They describe him as introspective and that he wrote a book that’s very important to them. They note that “it’s not just the music, it really makes me think.” Along with listening to music, Sage enjoys stuff that make them happy like playing Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing, and watching Fruits Basket.
